Three words to describe the mission-driven goals of one our SCBHN affiliate partners, Cayuga Area Recovery Services (C.A.R.S.)

This newly completed mural embodies these three words and the work of C.A.R.S.  This mural is the creation of artists Betsy Casanas and Mauricio Muchomache.  This effort was coordinated by Katarina Wehmeyher, a Nurse Manager for CARS.  This is the largest mural completed by Ithaca Murals thus far.

If you are driving through Ithaca, go to Plain Street, right before West MLK Jr. Blvd and it’s right on the CARS building.

C.A.R.S. was founded in 1972, C.A.R.S. offers Outpatient, Opioid Treatment Program, and Residential Rehabilitation services. Operating under the regulatory guidance of the NYS Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS), C.A.R.S. provides its clients evidence-based, holistic clinical programming supported with a range of Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) options.

Guided by a Board of Directors, C.A.R.S. is currently pursuing affiliation with Cayuga Health System of Tompkins, Cortland, and Schuyler Counties.
